While HyperTalk was tolerable (IIRC), whoever thought extending the language outside of its environment into the realm of system and application automation/glue was a good idea really does deserve special attention. OSA scripting support is hateful enough on its own (though it continues to tease me with the potential of usefulness). That's why I wrote a whole Perl framework to do OSA scripting using standard OSA vocabulary, but without the AppleScript syntax etc. Perl may be hateful, OSA may be hateful, but AppleScript is beyond hateful.
